Privacy Settings for userpage

We should have the ability to display our pages publicly or privately on deviantart. This could be used by people who only want deviantartists to see their pages.

    Elaborate further on what you mean. I don't understand.

    @jacie2

    We should have in the edit page the ability to make our account viewable for guests or members.

    Some people like to make exclusive content for members of deviantart to help attract attention to the website.

    Some people simply don't like guests viewing their submissions, downloading them and doing who knows what to them.

    This would help make the platform feel more safe for people knowing they have the ability to make their account registered users only so businesses some people work for won't find out about things they are personally life choices or themes of artwork that others outside of deviantart might disagree with.

    There is a block exploited on deviantart where if a person blocks you, you can just log off and view the page. The choice in having people display their DA privately would fix that.

    I fear that this could be far too easily exploited by callout-based people. Imagine if someone were to call out a person falsely, then block said person and private their account, and so that person would be unable to defend himself against the new hate mob because he's literally unable to see what he's been called out for.

    You can make your deviations viewable by members only if you wish

    That's the way to do it massively. When you submit a deviation, click publishing options

    That's what the report flag is for.

    I know, and currently it could be used for that purpose even when blocked, I just have to log out, go to that person's account, find the callout post, log in and report.

    However, if we were to implement a "you can only view this profile if you're logged in", the only way for me to handle such a theoretical situation would be if I either created a new account and reported the callout from there, which would be block evasion, or to cross my fingers and hope that someone would report it for me, and judging from the overabundance of callout posts on DA I find that unlikely.
